Mentors Supporting Providers at all Stages of Child Care

Here are some of the benefits a mentor can provide:

  • Support with contracts, policies and business aspects of child care.

  • Suggestion of room arrangement and organization of materials.

  • Implementation of curriculum and assessment tools.

  • Links to resources that are available to child care providers.

  • Professional development and training.

  • Support with parent and family interactions.

Interested in Becoming a Mentor?

Ever considered sharing your skills and knowledge with other providers?
MCCPIN is always looking for providers to share their expertise.  Information about becoming a Mentor will be on this web site when the new state organization determines how the current mentor program will align with state changes in Mentoring/Relationship Based Professional Development (RBPD), the Minnesota Center for Professional Development (MNCPD) and the DEVELOP System.

You might have the characteristics for mentoring if:

  • You have an interest in sharing your passion for the field with others.

  • You can devote time working one on one with other providers.

  • You can commit to completing the Mentor Credential training.

  • You model and understand best practices for child development.

  • You are flexible and respect individuality.
